Initial reflections on classroom practice

 My initial feelings on the lesson I've just taught.

 I felt uncomfortable because they didn't come here on time and they didn't have more chances to warmer activity. So they felt uncomfortable and I also felt uncomfortable. But I was happy because David reacted my teaching and Junhyen also showed me cooperate attitude.

 

What were the objectives of the lesson? How well did the students achieve them?

 My objective of the lesson was SWBAT introduce another's favorite food using "(name's) favorite food is (name of food)." in use stage.

 I listened some of students introduce another's favorite food using "(name's) favorite food is (name of food)." in use stage. So I know they achieved that. But few students didn't use T.L. I think they didn't have practice time using T.L.

 

Things that happened in which I felt proud or pleased.

 I felt please when Junhyen asked to others using "What is your favorite food?". Because I didn't expect Junhyen will follow the rule. May be I miss understood him by his first attitude.

 

Things that happened in which I felt uncomfortable, unsure or frustrated.

 I felt uncomfortable when some Ss didn't use the T.L. in use stage. May be the practice stage and use stage didn't match. it was for asking and answering about their food not another's food.

 

<A moment of the lesson I chose to analyze more deeply…>

 

Describe : In the use stage, I asked to Christina "Christina, what is Hoyoung's favorite food?". And Christina said, "Hoyoung's favorite food is Hamberger." Then I said, "You can ask to the other person." But Christina didn't ask to another S and she just looked up me for a while. So I said, "Choose. Choose a person." and explain how to do it. But Ss just looked their notebook and didn't answer or response.

 

Analyze : I realized that I didn't let them practice introduce another Ss favorite food to others. I felt bad. At that moment, Ss might feel confused how to ask and answer. Ss hindered because they didn't practice well during practice stage.

 

Generalize : Each stages or activities should be connected and related with each other. If Ss couldn't know how to do it, that is the problems of instructions. And don't skip each steps of learning.

 

Action plans : Next time I'll make lesson plans more connected and related. For example, I'll divide into two groups for survey activity, and then let Ss introduce their group members favorite food to other group.
